Our First Summer@INSEAD

Congratulations Koko and Hugo!

Our first DP1 students (2021) to attend Summer@INSEAD did so with grace and respect as the pandemic persisted, restricting their otherwise travel to attend this prestigious programme at INSEAD, Fontainebleau France.

Here’s what Koko had to say:

I was also involved in the STARTUP by Summer@INSEAD program, where I learnt about entrepreneurship over the course of 5 days.

I collaborated with peers from around the world and formed valuable connections through group projects. One of my highlights was pitching our project at the end of the week, as it was quite rewarding to see our proposal come together. My team's business idea ended up receiving runner-up and is still ongoing.

This was a great opportunity to exercise effective communication and teamwork skills in cross-cultural contexts which are highly relevant for STEM and beyond.

To conclude, I believe I have gained more skills and a broadened perspective from having been involved in these programs. I greatly appreciate my teachers at Westbourne who are passionate in their speciality, love teaching, and are supportive of our academic and other pursuits. I am also really grateful for being surrounded by peers who are motivated by a genuine desire to learn and to grow.

I look forward to what more I could explore during my days here at Westbourne!

Summer@INSEAD

Westbourne is one of only two schools from Australia where our students are invited to apply for the exclusive Summer@INSEAD programme. Conducted by INSEAD one of the world's leading and largest graduate business schools, this invitation is with thanks to our Global Chairman, Mark Peters. As an INSEAD alumnus and a true believer in the academic excellence of Westbourne’s STEM-focused IB students, his connection allows Westbourne students the opportunity to apply.

In 2022, Jack, Tara and Sam (DP1) followed their fellow college students’ footsteps. Read about it here.
